The Duchess of Sussex rushed over to greet fans outside the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham – but Harry soon needed to come to her aid

rince Harry rushed to Meghan Markle‘s aid during a tricky moment on their visit to Nottingham on Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex completed their first joint UK outing as non-working royals – and reunited with members of the crowd they’d not seen since stepping down from official engagements in 2020.

As they arrived at the Community Recording Studio (CRS) for their first stop of the day, Meghan rushed over to greet three fans waiting to embrace her in the crowd.

However, she had to navigate over a large brick step while wearing high heels, with a security member quickly responding in case she needed help.

Harry soon rushed over to lend a gentlemanly hand to help Meghan over the step.

He ensured she was over safely and remained behind her before several seconds, before moving on to greet others in the crowd.

One person wrote on social media: “Harry is ALWAYS ready to go to battle with a step or an inclined angle if Meghan was to encounter it.”

“Prince Harry is a gentleman, As Ever,” wrote a second.

The Duchess appeared to be wearing a new pair of Jennifer Chamandi heels, paired with a midi pencil skirt by The Fold London and a burgundy Joseph coat.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s affectionate moments on Nottingham visit

Harry and Meghan held hands and walked arm in arm at the CRS, while the Duke gently ushered her along the crowd.

They shared affectionate moments throughout the walkabout, with Harry placing his hand on Meghan’s back and the two occasionally wrapping their arms around each other.

Inside Epic Partners, Harry was spotted playing with Meghan’s hair in a subtle moment of PDA as the couple sang “Happy Birthday” to staff member Michaela Castillo-Williams.

When Harry completed a six-ball pool game, Meghan clapped and jumped up and down before giving her husband a squeeze on the arm.

The couple also held hands as they departed for the day, with Harry making sure it was he who faced and waved to crowds gathered outside.

Such moments of affection are not new for the Sussexes, who don’t usually hold back when they’re out in public.

Where did Harry and Meghan visit in Nottingham?

Harry and Meghan were welcomed to the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann’s, Nottingham, for a run of three quasi-royal public appearances in the city on Thursday.

The pair went straight to greet the crowds of well-wishers, just like a traditional royal walkabout – smiling, shaking hands, giving hugs and taking selfies with the members of the public.

However, this was their only walkabout of the day.

The Sussexes also visited the food poverty community action group Himmah Hub, while their final stop of the day was Epic Partners, which supports young people through sports programmes and mentoring.

The high-profile events are not official royal engagements – with a letter to Government stakeholders authorised by the King last month clarifying that the Sussexes remain “private citizens”.

The couple was protected by their private security team throughout the day, though City Council Community Protection Officers were in place, and unmarked police cars were spotted on neighbouring streets.

Outside Epic Partners, officials from Nottinghamshire Police directed the crowd, which had been blocking the exit by Harry and Meghan’s Range Rover.
